What is Kinesiology?

KinesiologyKinesiology (pronounced kin-easy-ology) is a holistic system of natural health care which uses muscle monitoring to communicate directly with the body. It can assess a person's response to any stimulus.

It draws on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine and can evaluate body function through the muscle-meridian relationship. It can also establish connections between imbalances, put them in order of priority and determine the most effective treatment. Kinesiology applies a wide range of gentle yet powerful techniques. These restore balance and create and sustain health, well-being and more effective functioning. Kinesiology also draws on and integrates other therapies and healing modalities and can be used as an adjunct to any therapy.

Kinesiology is renowned for being able to uncover and help the underlying causes of health problems that are difficult to find by any other means.

How does it work?

The Kinesiologist applies pressure to a contracted muscle and the client is asked to match or resist that pressure. The Kinesiologist evaluates the functioning of the muscle in response to a specific stimulus. The response of the muscle, whether it is able to remain in contraction or unlocks, gives the Kinesiologist feedback. This feedback is used to determine what the priority stresses are and the best way to address them.

Kinesiology can help with sleep disturbances

Without a good night's sleep our bodies struggle to carry out the necessary repairs essential for good health. A lack of sleep can be a main factor in reducing our ability to heal, cope with stress and concentrate; it can lead to depression, fatigue and immunity problems.

A sleep balance uses Kinesiology to pinpoint the cause of the sleeping problems and enables a programme to be developed to support a good night's sleep and thus more importantly supporting our bodies natural ability to heal itself.

Kinesiology can help with general Well-being

We often feel 'below par' and Kinesiology can help you balance your bodies systems and help you enjoy a level of health you may not have experienced since childhood.

We can be demonstrating classic signs of deficiencies in many vitamins and minerals, whilst eating a healthy diet. Sometimes one nutrient is in low supply, that nutrient may be an important factor in the successful absorption of other nutrients.

Kinesiology can help with energy mis-alignment.

There are many reasons why our energy can be misaligned with our living and/or working space. It can not only defocus our work efforts but also hamper our general wellbeing. Using Kinesiology the energies are aligned and harmonised.

Kinesiology works on the whole person and is non-intrusive and non-invasive and confidential. You remain fully clothed. Sessions usually take at least an hour.
